Moose live in some of the most rugged country on earth. Their long legs can maneuver through deep swamps that would bury most people. They can drive through dense brush and cover steep mountains without issue. Moose can flat out travel, and they are exceptionally adapted to the harshest, wettest, coldest country you will encounter.
We have the opportunity to hunt moose in an area with no road systems, near the British Columbia and Yukon border. There’s virtually no outside hunting pressure. This is as remote as it gets. Moose hunting in a remote, roadless area is a bucket list opportunity.

Camp Comfort
When you step off the bush plane, a comfortable Kawdy Outfitters camp is waiting. Thanks to the long legacy of Kawdy Outfitters, cabins have been built at many of our most remote hunting locations over the years. Most of these spike camps, scattered throughout the area, provide warm cabins with wood burning stoves and propane powered kitchens.
No matter what the day throws your way, you will return to a warm camp where clothes are dried, you’ll enjoy a hot meal, and a great night of sleep. Few remote moose hunters have this luxury and it means you will have more energy each morning to wake up and hunt hard. Get your days started with dry clothes, a warm breakfast and hot coffee.
Access More Terrain
After you fill up in the morning, horses are ready to hit the mountain and head to prime areas. Our guides work hard before the season, and then throughout the fall to trail horses to these remote camps.
Unlike foot-driven hunts that often rely on calling moose from long distances during the rut, horseback hunting makes it possible to cover ground and glass expansive areas, without expending a ton of energy. They also make it possible to pack a moose back to camp, extending our realistic range. It’s the ideal method of hunting in difficult moose country.
In addition to the horseback hunts for moose, there are opportunties for lake hunts, using boats. This can be a great option for those who prefer not to ride horses, or those who simply want the experience of hunting moose on these remote northern lakes.
