Winter Update From British Columbia

It has been a busy winter for the Kawdy Outfitters team. Here’s an update on preparations for the 2025 hunting season, and conditions on the ground here in British Columbia.
First, thanks to everyone who visited with us this winter at the Dallas Safari Club show in Atlanta, and at the Sheep Show in Reno. We enjoyed visiting with many folks for the first time, as well as catching up with old friends. If you have hunting questions following those conversations, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Camp Improvements
We are now busy organizing supplies and materials that need to go to one of our remote, wilderness camps in northern B.C. We will continue making improvements to a few of our camps this year, as well as regular maintenance repairs that always come with a place this remote.
New Horses
Our herd continues to grow as we work on our breeding program, training, and bringing new horses into the regular rotation. We’re thankful to have great stock for our clients and guides, and we’re excited to be adding even more depth.
B.C. Winter Conditions
On the ground in northern British Columbia, winter conditions are just about perfect. While snowpack in the south half of the province is is below average, the area we hunt in the north was reporting just over 100% of normal snowpack as of February 1st. This is good news for our mountain caribou herds, sheep and moose. In northern B.C. we should have good moisture heading into the summer season, but without an overly severe winter.
2025 Hunting Season
As spring approaches, we’re getting excited about the upcoming 2025 hunting season. Our first stone sheep hunters will arrive at the end of July, followed closely by mountain goat, mountain caribou and moose hunts! There’s a lot of work to be done between now and then, and we’re looking forward to it!
