Ideal Conditions for A Stone Sheep Hunt
We are excited about this year’s prospects for sheep hunting here at Kawdy Outfitters. The conditions are lining up perfectly for an excellent stone sheep hunt here in northern British Columbia!
We are coming off a relatively easy winter up north this year. There wasn’t much snow and spring is showing up early. Of course, that’s a great sign for carryover of older rams. Ram numbers last year were excellent and we saw many incredible up-and-coming harvestable rams. We left some awesome stone sheep on the mountain last year and we’re looking forward to seeing what rams show up again this season.
The easy winter also means that we will be able to get our guides on the mountain early to begin finding those carryover rams. With an early spring, scouting will begin around the first of July. We have an excellent group of experienced sheep hunting guides who are chomping at the bit to get out there and kick off the 2016 season. The early start gives us some extra time to scout and locate rams!
Kawdy Outfitters has a long history of producing outstanding stone sheep trophies. Rams in this area carry excellent mass and have the beautiful color contrast that makes stone sheep so special. For more information, see our Stone Sheep page.
All together, conditions are looking perfect for our 2016 stone sheep hunters. We still have very limited availability for this season. If you’re interested in hunting sheep with us this year, or if you’d like to know more about our hunts, please call us at 250-306-8624 or send us a message.
To all of our 2016 hunters, we are looking forward to seeing you this year! It’s shaping up to be another outstanding season in B.C.
