Winter Update From British Columbia

It has been a busy month in British Columbia. Here’s an update on preparations for the 2019 hunting season, and conditions on the ground here in B.C.
First, thanks to everyone who visited with us this winter at the Dallas Safari Club show, and at the Sheep Show in Reno. We enjoyed visiting with many folks for the first time, as well as catching up with old friends. If you have hunting questions following those conversations, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Camp Improvements
We are now busy organizing supplies and building materials that need to go to one of our remote, wilderness camps in northern B.C. We will be making improvements to a few of our camps this year, as we continue to build on the great legacy that was left to us by the Lancaster family.

New Horses
We will also be picking up several new horses this winter. Over time, we will work to bring them into the rotation. We’re thankful to have great stock for our clients and guides, and we’re excited to be adding even more depth.
B.C. Winter Conditions
On the ground here in British Columbia, winter conditions are just about perfect. Snowpack throughout the province is at normal levels. As of mid-January, the province was averaging 103% of normal snowpack, and most forecasters are predicting light to normal snowfall for the remainder of the season. This is great news for our mountain caribou herds, sheep and moose. In northern B.C. we should have good moisture heading into the summer season, but without an overly severe winter.
2019 Hunting Season
As spring approaches, we’re getting excited about the upcoming 2019 hunting season. Our first stone sheep hunters will arrive at the end of July, followed closely by mountain goat, mountain caribou and moose hunts! There’s a lot of work to be done between now and then, and we’re looking forward to it!

Here’s to a great 2019!
